Week 12 – Keep Fighting

We are in a fight! That’s the fact. But the knowledge is the key. What kind of a fight?

Jesus won it all by destroying the works of Satan on the cross. He gave us victory over sin and death. The problem of evil got a solution in the sufferings of the Lord Jesus Christ. His resurrection from the dead gave mankind hope and restored our fallen relationship with God. Now He is seated on the right hand of the Father in heaven. The Holy Spirit is functioning actively on earth in preparing the church for the second coming of Jesus Christ.

When all is said and done, then what are we fighting? We are fighting to keep up the faith that connects us to the realities of salvation and makes the victory of Christ ours. The only way to experience Christ in all His glory in our lives every day is FAITH.

For those who are saved, we are saved by grace through faith (Eph 2:8-9). It is a God-given faith. It is a new covenant faith. We received it, we believed it. For those who are yet to be saved, the gospel brings in this faith. By hearing God’s Word, this faith is activated. Once we are saved, the fight begins. The fight is to keep up the faith daily.

The enemy comes in to attack the faith of a Christian. When we lose faith, we lose the reality of the glory of the Gospel. Tribulations, problems, crises, and troubles all have a common enemy – FAITH. That is why we need God’s Word every day to fuel our faith and keep fighting. Without Faith, it is impossible to please God (Heb 11:6).

Apostle Paul said, So fight the good fight of FAITH (1 Tim 6:12 – NIV).
