The preparations of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from the LORD. Pro 16:1
The Hebrew word for heart here is ‘leb’, which is also translated as mind. Mind is the medium between the seen and the unseen world. It is the bridge that connects both. Our life is spiritually divided into inside life and outside life. Inside life is all about our relationship with God. Outside life is all about our relationship with the people around us.
The trajectory of our influence must be from inside to outside for a healthy lifestyle. In other words, our relationship with people must be based on our relationship with God, and out of that divine relationship, we relate with people around us. This gives us a unique identity by which we function with people.
The reverse of it causes staggering negative impulses. If we let our outside world influence our inside relationship with God, we get lost in the process, for the world has no identity to give to us. God is our creator, He is our Father, He is the source of our lives. He is everything we will ever need. This must drive us to function in the world we live in.
Our relationship with God must affect every area of our lives: personal, family, ministry, and work life. This is our utmost preparation to let God minister through us to the hurting world. Getting right with God through the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross, and living a new life by His Spirit within us, connects our body to become God’s channel of ministry to the dying world.
